My bedroom's blind was broken so broad daylight and sun came into the room at 4am. I spoke to reception the night before asking how to work the blind and they said it was broken. The window was very big, almost the size of a double bed. I asked how they could sell a room without a blind or curtain and their answer was they were waiting for the engineer to fix it. They were fully booked so couldnt change my room.
At 4am, my room was in bright daylight.
At 7am I went to reception and they said nothing they can do. So I showed them a photo, said I'd put it on the review, and only then did they offer to change my room. I asked for a refund too and their answer was "I'm not sure".
At 10am I went into the new room they had given me, opened the door, and a man was still showering in there. So the room they switched me to wasn't vacant. I apologised to the poor guy who's room I entered and they then switched me to a 3rd room that was fine.
Conclusion: It wasnt until II said I would put a photo of it on the review that they tried to help. I was at a trade fair with meetings all day, and to be woken up at 4am is not acceptable. If the hotel chooses to read this, I would expect a full refund at the very least.
