It's kind of that hotel that is so close to great but sooooo far off of it.
I'll start by stating that if you are an Expedia/Hotels platinum or gold member, don't book here.
It's not honored here.
Other hotels in the area honour our points and programs.
We are platinum members, and we asked for our complimentary upgrade (they weren't more than 50% booked, and when we went to book another hotel room, that should have been our upgrade, we could have. The front desk was told by someone on the phone that there were no other rooms...)
Pretty horrible service.
Now, to get to the hotel.
First of all, the concierge is brutally horrible. It's probably the worst customer service ever.
They hotel thinks it's a high-end hotel, but it really is not.
It's a step above a comfort inn... service wise. Most of the staff is nice enough, but the front desk is horrible.
Secondly, It's dated. I guess it's part of the charm, but broken and dated, are 2 different things.
Everything is old. From the tapestry, carpets, and the rooms. It's as if 1984 was a peak year there, and they never changed anything since.
They have a pool table...in the casino...
Enough said...
Also, the restaurant in the casino is nice enough, and they actually have the best staff in that restaurant.
The gold course is nice, but there are nicer ones in the area.
The amenities...well... they are OK.
The pool was warm on a cold day, and the hot tub was nice, but it became pretty crowded because the second hot tub is broken.
