We booked a Candlewood Suites room in Lafayette in advance for 5 nights, hoping to enjoy our stay while exploring the area and visiting the crawfish festival. The problems started piling up right from the beginning. My key to the room was not working, the phone in the room to call the service desk wasn’t working either, had to go downstairs to have it recoded. Preparation for dinner didn’t go well either as the stove was out of service. The clerk pretended to have sent a technician, who never showed up. The room was depressingly humid and smelly. Everything was sticky and damp to the touch, there was mold growing between windows. It was the worst hospitality experience ever. We couldn’t spend a single night in the suite, moved to another hotel. The management didn’t care to refund me at all for any of the prepaid 5 nights.
