Check-in was ok. We got to the room and there was a really heavy MOLDY small in the room. I washed my hands, and a huge COCKROACH came out of the drain. After that, the sink would not drain. I went to the front desk, and the guy said he was gonna send "maintenance." The maintenance guy was not dressed appropriately. His shorts and underwear were hanging off his behind, showing everything. He tried to use a small snake to clean it, the smell was getting worse. I went back to the front desk. I told him that the mold smell was getting worse, he said to wait and see if it can get cleaned and that's where the smell was coming from. Plus he stated that there were no more rooms available and he didn't want to cancel anyone. So I went back to the room. The smell was making me feel sick, I had my elderly mother with me and I didn't want her to get sick from the smell. So I again went back to the front desk and told him that, he just got kind of upset and grabbed his computer aggressively and said, OK! I'll move you and just close the room. He put us next door. We moved in and the smell was better. BUT... in the restroom, there was another big roach on the floor. I killed I and tried to flush it, the toilet would NOT flush.. i called the front again on my cellphone, because there was NO phone cord on the house phone. I told him about the toilet, he sighed heavy and brought a plunger. He flushed it and just watched the water overflow onto the floor. He brought 3 small towels.

We have called it an adventure, but not one we want to do again. The property was overall poorly maintained. The plumbing in the shower moved around; the bathroom sink stopper wouldn't open, so we used the sink minimally; the bathroom floor didn't look mopped; the floor seemed gritty; the lighting was grim; the curtains had adhesive labels holding holes closed; the air conditioner/heater was noisy; and we saw a roach 2x during the visit. Ugh. The decor did match the images online, but the reality was much more run down. Also, next to the interstate, we couldn't believe how many locals don't use mufflers. A lot of highway noise. Coffee was only available during the "free breakfast" 8-10 am and 1 waffle maker and packaged granola bars barely qualifies as a breakfast, especially since there was a long line for waffles. Just enough breakfast to justify saying they offer it on the internet. For about $170/night, I would expect so much better. While Super 8's aren't expected to be luxury; in my experience, they've met the basics. This Super 8 did not. Two positives: Bobby at the front desk was excellent to interact with, very friendly and helpful. Also, the bed was actually pretty comfortable. These kept it from being a single star. Since we had paid upfront, we stuck it out - called it an adventure, but we would never stay there again, nor would we recommend it to anyone.

Check in was kinda rough. The male that checked me in threw my ID at me when giving my ID back to me. At first I didn't think anything of it but I thought, hey, I'm having a bad day too. So, I just shrugged my shoulders and said, " I guess were all having a day like this". And then he said he was sorry. I get to my room and immediately to the restroom as i just did a 4.5 hour drive. The toilet papeR was down to the last 8 sheets, but i always carry a rol with me just incase. Bed was very comfy and I didnt partake of the breakfast.

The lobby is usually closed so having breakfast there is impossible. This morning there was a sign that said the lobby would open at 8:30. Yesterday all I could get was coffee.

The room was beautiful, however, my socks (and a washcloth that i cleaned up a wet mess with) were terribly dark with road dust. If the floor had been mopped, wet or dry, it would not have been evident. The fact that this property is right on Central should be considered, as it is a main drag, and people drive it all hours of the night. Drivers show off dragsters, and modifications on modern hotrods, and "bump" their choice of music very loudly, with no consideration that people might want to be sleeping after dark!! Considering this hotel is right on the Historic Old Route 66, it is charming. There was no continental breakfast, as advertised, but the owner was extremely grateful for my business, and happily got me a 3rd bath towel. I would stay there again, but have earplugs to stop the noise level from awakening me.

The staff was always rude every time I asked for toilet paper and trash bags when I had my kids with me. The breakfast wasn't the best. All they had was cereal and toast. This isn't the best hotel to stay.i wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The refrigerator ruined my food. The bath mat was filthy. We were charged 19.98 after the fact and we left the room clean. This should not be allowed and if Expedia allows this without any questions! It’s ridiculous

Rude employees in the am. Dirt under the beds. The rail on the second floor feels like it could fall off at any moment. Check in was fine. Sign in lobby says breakfast 730 am to 10. My adult son. Had to ring a bell to get in. Immediately asked what room number he was in. And what his name was. Be cause his first name is different than mine. They told him he couldn't eat. And that breakfast was at 8. We went down at 8 and had to wait to be buzzed in. They once again told my son he couldn't eat. I informed them that I paid for a room with two beds. And that the 2 of us were going to eat. And if they didn't like it they could call the cops. Breakfast was white bread only. Waffles. Only thing for the toast was grape jelly. No juices had Cheerios and frosted flakes. Coffee. No other choices.

Dirty room which was advertised with handicapped and accessible room but there was nit a functional thing that it was. The so-called hand bar at the toilet was broken and fell off when our handicapped daughter fell and I had to grab her preventing a bad fall. I sprained my back and had back pain from it for a week. I complained to management and they said we could leave but it was late night and no place to stay due to no vacancy because of a hit air balloon event that weekend. This place was so bad and the price was elevated like 3-4 times the usual cost. They tried to fix the handle bar and wired and hammered in a support structure but wasn’t any consolation. We got only 10% discount. We will never stay again!!
