Wonderful stay

Staying here was a wonderful experience, from the service to the ambiance. It's close to town but peacefully removed from it as well. We loved staying in the cabins and wish we could have stayed longer. The breakfast was also delicious!

Super kind and friendly

They are very quaint and rustic pods. I knew they were small but would have liked somewhere to put toiletries in the bathroom. Oddly, there wasn’t any facial tissues. But, beautiful, relaxing view of the bay. Great food and service at the restaurant. I would recommend this hotel.

A great find on Skye

Great location, not far from Portree with amazing views and a great restaurant, bar, and lobby. Rooms are extremely private and well maintained.

We had one of the newer cabins. It’s a little of a hike to all the cabins. The main reception has a chic bar and nice restaurant. Gorgeous view. The biggest issue, which was significant, was that our room was not ready on arrival after 4:30 pm, and the same on the first day of our stay after a long day out. Also, quite important, it would be more than a 20-25’ walk to town…which is not what I expected.

Concept original mais prix prestations décevants

Nous avons apprécié le concept et la vue. La première impression passée on constate l'exiguité de la chambre et de la salle de bain dans laquelle aucun rangement n'est possible y compris les linges de bain. La chambre n'a pas été faite le deuxième jour ce qui nous amène à dire que le rapport service prix est médiocre. Accès à pied aux bengalows assez pénibles pour des personnes âgées. Restaurant et bar très agréables, serveurs très courtois, nous avons très bien dîné mais à des prix relativement élevés par contre nous regrettons l'absence de buffet pour le petit déjeuner et un choix très limité.

Rapport qualité prix inadéquate

Plusieurs éléments ont considérablement nui à notre expérience et ne correspondent pas aux standards de qualité attendus pour ce niveau de prestation : 1. Accueil peu soigné à l’arrivée Lors de notre arrivée, un membre de votre équipe a pris en charge nos bagages avec la voiturette, mais est parti seul sans nous proposer de nous accompagner. Nous avons donc dû rejoindre notre cabane à pied, ce qui est loin de correspondre à un accueil client de qualité. 2. Mobilier extérieur endommagé Nous avons constaté que les chaises de la terrasse de notre cabane étaient en mauvais état, avec des cordes manquantes, rendant l’assise inconfortable et inutilisable correctement. 3. Manque total d’intimité Notre cabane donnait directement sur un chemin fréquenté, si bien que toute personne passant devant pouvait voir l’intérieur de la chambre. Ce manque d’intimité est très regrettable. 4. Restaurant fermé sans solution proposée Le restaurant de l’hôtel était fermé durant notre séjour en raison de l’absence du chef, sans qu’aucune solution alternative ne soit proposée. Pour un établissement de ce standing, ce type de désorganisation est inacceptable. 5. Refus de changement de chambre malgré notre demande Face au manque d’intimité, nous avons demandé à changer mais sans succès.

Expensive - Understaffed - Disappointing

Firstly applause to all the staff that work so hard in this hotel but seriously understaffed. Our check in time was 3:00pm but arrived room not ready had to wait two hours. The reception man just seemed embarrassed and couldn't really give us a time so we went into town and came back later. Restaurant closed for dinner during our stay. Breakfast so understaffed you feel guilty asking for anything as the one server was running around. Couldn't have latte as would take to long to make. Breakfast menu is ok if you like the options personally I like to have boiled eggs which in every other hotel we have stayed over the last few weeks was no problem but this extremely expensive hotel said the chef was too busy. Rooms were not cleaned for our two night stay no refills of tea supplies. No staff around after 9:00pm. Hotel wasn't at full capacity our first night so I feel so sorry for staff if it was they just wouldn't be able to cope. Management invest in some more staff before you add more of the huts. Very disappointing as the staff were lovely and the hotel very nicely decorated.

It’s a long walk from car to your chalet. The staff will take luggage up but not you. Hot old pretty quickly. Skye is a pricey market but no way this place is worth the cost. Restaurant and staff are great. The town is not very nice.

So let me start with what they never mentioned in their listings or ads, all of these pods, and I would describe them as luxury pods, are located a couple hundred yards from the main building up a hill that you must travel through gravel to get to. We arrived after dark when a porter is not normally available to transport your bags up to your pod. It is very poorly lit around the hotel entrance and it is not immediately known if you’re parking in the correct area and where to go and what to do because the signage is so bad. We managed to get through it and the pod was very nice but can you imagine if someone has special needs or is elderly? There is no way they could climb this hill and pull their bags in the dark over gravel. Definitely not worth the price tag in my opinion!!

Hideaway on an Isle of Skye Hillside

Really unique accommodations. Very quiet and private "hides" or huts tucked on a hill overlooking beautiful Skye landscapes. A central building with an awesome dining room, bar and game/relaxing area is steps away. Check-in was fast and easy with friendly and professional staff. Only meals we ate here was breakfast and it was great. Service was great. Coffee was great. Poached eggs on avocado toast was great. Fruit and croissants were also great. Just a 10-12 minute stroll to Portree Harbor. Highly recommend.
