First of all, I would like to say that the hotel itself is beautiful and staff polite
First unpleasant surprise came at check-in when we were told that we had to pay a cash security deposit. This requirement was not mentioned anywhere. I did not have that amount of cash with me, and surprisingly, the hotel would not accept a credit card for the deposit. After some discussion, the staff kindly agreed to accept the smaller amount of cash that I had with me, and I also had to leave my passport as security until check-out.
In the room contains a detailed price list for stains on towels and bed linen, broken cutlery I would have expected a credit card deposit to be a much safer and more practical solution for both the hotel and its guests. Another major disappointment was that I specifically booked and paid for the Penthouse Suite with Sea View, but instead received the Penthouse Suite with Mountain View, which was the cheaper option available when booking. I paid for one room category but received another. The room description was inaccurate, and several of the advertised amenities were missing. When I raised this with reception, I was told that the incorrect information came from Hotels.com and that the hotel accepted no responsibility for it. As a guest, however, I booked based on the advertised description and expected to receive what I had paid for. There was no hand soap in any bathroom.
