Room was very clean and tidy. I had the corner unit 1 bedroom suite with a mini kitchen and 2 refrigerators. 2 electric burner stoves. Very well stocked. Would request this room again. Perfect stay for my family of 5. Saved money by buying groceries and cooking.

From the beginning, I didn’t expect this room was a private room and would have to contact the local property management to find my booking and housekeeping. So no daily housekeeping. Also, there was more fee charges than what Travelocity advised when it was booked. A very partial ocean view. Location of hotel is only thing I enjoyed.

I was disappointed about the false advertising on ocean view, your body would have to hang over the balcony to see a little part of the ocean. The microwave couldn’t control the buttons to what you want and the clock was on but couldn’t control the button to set the correct time, we could here the elevators going up and down cause our room was right behind the elevators , coffee maker was dirty, room was clean .

I never knew that there was such a thing as a third-party organization involved in renting a hotel room. I did not realize this when I made the reservation. It led to extra fees at the hotel when checking in. There were ridiculous check-in fees, amenity fees, and we could not use the hotel staff for our service needs. We needed clean towels, and the hotel cleaning staff would not give us any. We were supposed to contact the Livily representative just for towels. We had no coffee cups in the room and when I contacted the LIvily rep for cups, they brought more bad coffee instead. There was no soap in the bathroom and no knives in the very small fake kitchen kind of place. I will never use them again, and always check to make sure you are getting your reservation with the hotel and not some other 3rd party.

The one star rating for communication is for the reservation foul up which was not the fault of the Ala Moana staff, they were amazing!
Unfortunately, not booking through the hotel directly caused so much unneeded stress. I paid a lot of money before arriving and once at the hotel they had no reservation for me so I had to pay for another room through the hotel directly. I was fortunate the hotel wasn't fully booked.
As I said earlier, the hotel staff were really great and the hotel itself was fantastic. Make sure to visit the restaurant on the top floor (beautiful views) and off the lobby, both staff were super nice :)
Will definitely return but will never use a third party service again.
To orbitz' credit, they did work with me over the phone but the stress of waiting for a refund was not needed as I was already in town for a funeral and did not need more things to deal with.

Our experience with this hotel was terrible. A few days after we had already paid for our reservation, we were informed that the room would not be available. We were offered an inferior option, smaller and without an ocean view, even though we had paid extra for an ocean-view balcony. When we requested a refund for the additional amount, they refused. We spent hours speaking with different managers without reaching a solution.
Later, the hotel confirmed by message that we would receive the original room and sent us a receipt with the details. However, when we arrived at the hotel at night, we were assigned a completely different room, and they presented a different receipt, claiming that was what we had paid for. When we showed our confirmation, the staff was confused and the property owners never answered our calls.
Because the room they assigned was worth much less and no refund was offered, we decided to leave. It was past midnight and we could not find another hotel, which made our first night in Hawaii extremely stressful. Over the following days, both the hotel and Expedia refused to issue a refund, claiming it was a cancellation, when in reality the hotel failed to provide the service we had paid for. This situation ruined the beginning of our vacation.
