Our family stayed for a week in two rooms. The staff themselves are genuinely nice, helpful people—they carried our heavy bags up and down the stairs without hesitation, always smiled, and verbally wanted to help. That warmth is the only reason this isn’t a 1-star review.
But unfortunately, good intentions don’t fix broken systems.
The issues:
· Air conditioning: For the first five nights, the A/C in both rooms barely cooled. We slept poorly in the heat (Poipet is hot!). We asked multiple times—politely, then more firmly. Staff were sympathetic but seemed powerless.
· Toilet seat: In one room, the toilet seat was broken off its hinges from day one. A minor thing, and We mentioned to the staff twice, but they never fixed it.
· Response limits: Here’s the real problem. The staff wanted to help, but there was only so much they seemed to do. It felt like management has tied their hands.
The turning point:
On day five, after very little sleep, I specifically asked that the A/C units in both rooms be recharged with new coolant gas. Surprise—that fixed the problem for our last two nights! It worked perfectly after that. But why did I, a guest, have to diagnose the issue and insist on the solution?
Bottom line:
Be prepared to have to push harder than you should for basic comfort.
Anyway, We’re grateful to the individual staff members for their kindness and bag-lugging help. Management, please empower your team to actually solve problems in real time.
