Not Adults Only

The advertisement as an Adult Only establishment isn’t accurate. The property is shared with family accommodations and the VIP services are far from a top tier experience. The staff was kind , especially Tina— however if you are seeking a higher standard and a true adult only property this isn’t it. The Hyatt has a adult only property with a great pool area— this is must due to the current conditions of the beach. As a result I decided to pay for another hotel experience and found the best beaches at Isla Mujeres. I would recommend accommodations on the island to avoid the sargasso issue. 3 stars based on my experience is generous.

A mixed bag.

We booked the hotel for our Honeymoon and the first impressions were really positive. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. That was until, before we were shown to our room, we were made to sit through the start of a sales pitch for their members club. This is just not necessary, and really something that we did not want to discuss or hear about after hours of travelling. We then discovered very quickly, that this is not an "Adults Only" hotel as advertised. Yes, there is an Adult Only pool but, the vast majority of the Hotel is catered for families. We have no issues with Family Hotels, but it is not what we booked. The food was fine but the main buffet is painfully repetitive and if it was not for the live cooking station in the middle, would actually be very poor. They have multiple restaurants, but the Mexican/Seafood restaurant exceeds them all by some way. The drinks were good and the hotel was very clean. The beach is beautiful and the Bali beds were excellent. We did enjoy our time but felt a little bit deceived. I would recommend it for families, but we won't be back as a couple.

Las instalaciones del hotel son bonitas, es un lugar super tranquilo, solo desearia que hubiera un bar en la zona de la playa la unica opcion de bebidas quedaba un tanto retirado de la zona del camastro asignado, aunque la chica encargada de atendernos siempre en la mejor disposicion y haciendo su mejor esfuerzo por llevarnos las bebidas lo mas pronto posible! Mencion a Karina de la zona de playa!

The villa was lovely quiet comfortable and had a relaxing courtyard and plunge pool just steps from the beautiful beach Service personnel were top notch in all areas Our butler Alejandro was perfect always available and helpful with everything Dinner reservations beach accommodations room help you name it. Thank you The food was not great unfortunately. Italian restaurant food was not appetizing at all maybe it was what we ordered but inedible Buffet was fine for breakfast not so much for lunch or dinner Asian was ok but not great Seafood lunch was good again not great Hamburgers and hot dogs were decent for lunch pizza was inedible The coffee shop was very good The steak restaurant was very good unfortunately you had to pay extra to eat there for dinner which is annoying since it was really the only dinner we enjoyed We would go back loved the hotel beach and service but the food definitely needs to improve

We had an incredible stay at the Select Royal Grand Park Royal with VIP access and couldn’t recommend it more! We booked a beachfront villa with a private plunge pool, and it exceeded all expectations—waking up to the sound of the ocean and having direct beach access felt like a dream. The property is absolutely stunning, and the Select villas offer a perfect balance of privacy and luxury. Every a la carte restaurant we tried was excellent, but the standout experience was having access to the Prime Restaurant. The ocean views during breakfast and lunch were breathtaking, and the service was top-tier. A special shoutout to our butler, Alejandro, who made our stay seamless and stress-free. He took care of all our dinner reservations and secured Bali beds for us at both the beach and adult pool. His attention to detail and kindness truly elevated our experience. If you’re looking for a relaxing, high-end vacation with personalized service and beautiful surroundings, this is the place. We can’t wait to come back!

Jessica our butler was fantastic. She took care of all of our needs. There were multiple people who worked there who went out of their way to always be smiling and polite. Our room was awesome, the restaurants were all great, except the italian one. That was sub par. The drinks from the bar were all watered down pretty heavily. Even if I asked for a double I never tasted it. I guess thats how they keep puke out of the pool. The other butler with the beard started removing my wife and I's belongings from the cabana poolside and said "its $200." So we politely gathered our things and moved. I then asked our butler Jessica and she got us another one the next day. SO, idk if the guy didn't think a black chick could afford a cabana or what, but I didn't appreciate him moving our stuff when we clearly had the vip wristbands on. That was really my only problem with this hotel. It was quiet on the adults only side. There were tons of huge family parties, tho I'm not sure why. I guess they give day passes to less fortunate families through a fund of some sort, which is a nice thing to do. Everything was close or close enough to not complain about. The cafe was wonderful! I especially loved the caramel latte's and the cofee gelato. I gained 7 lbs..... I didn't like having to use the whatsapp app because of their connections to the CCP and privacy issues in the past, so I quickly deleted it upon our return. It was helpful when we were there only because the cell service sucked. A-

We had a personal butler that took care of every request. She decorated my room for my bday while we were at the pool in our private cabana she set up for us. Very thoughtful.

Overall a good experience but not great. The breakdown: Pros: Nice beach, clear and free of seaweed. We had use of the cabanas which made it even better. Property was well maintained. We stayed in one of the Villas and the rooms are fairly modern and beds were comfy. Staff were great, friendly and helpful. Cons: The food was probably the biggest let down. The buffet selection was ok but a bit limited and some of the food was cold. The specialty restaurants were not very good. The hibachi was probably the best. The sushi was not very good. Dinner at the Italian restaurant started off great with the appetizers and salad bar. However, it took 1 hour to get our entree and when it finally got there the food was cold. For the price it was ok , but there are better options particularly for food, if that is important to you.

Llegamos al hotel exactamente a las 3 pm que senalaba para el check in y se nos llevo a una pequena oficina donde esperamos 25mins para luego se nos informara que nuestra habitacion no estaba lista hasta dentro de 45 mins que despues paso a una hora, durante este tiempo solo se nos ofrecio esperar en una cama en la.playa y cuando estuvimos ahi esperando solicitamos unas bebidas las cuales nunca llegaron y tuve que ir directamente a pedirlas al bar yo mismo y desde el lugar en que estabamos esperando hasta el bar mas cercano es bastante retirado, ya en el bar recibi el peor trato por parte de los bartenders eran mas de 4 y aun asi fui ignorado y estuve buen rato esperando por servicio y solicite bebidas extra para no caminar de nuevo solicitud que fue groseramente negada, el servicio y el trato especoalmente en el bar me dejo mal sabor de boca.

If your handicap such as needing to use cane, wheelchair or not good on uneven suface this resort is not for you. The villas were absolutely beautiful with beautiful ocean view. Some staff are not friendly and hound you to join vacation club we werent even at resort more then 10 minutes before hounding started.

El hotel muy bonito, muy cómodo pero no es solo para adultos, tiene una alberca solo para adultos pero nada más, el personal muy amable pero la comida del bufet no es buena y el restaurante de mariscos regular, pedí un bisque de langosta y tenía muchas cáscaras que tenía que estar sacándome de la boca lo cual me resultó muy desagradable así que decidí no comerla, los meseros de ese restaurante son muy lentos, no están pendientes, al día siguiente desayuné ahí y tampoco estuvo bien, los restaurantes de especialidades muy buenos, sobre todo el italiano

Hello, the resort itself is really good and the staff is great! Sadly there is some areas of improvement. As an all inclusive resort I was expecting more per the reviews I saw online. To our disappointment the food was really bad on most of the options available inside the resort. Out of the 5 options available only one was good, but even that options lacked on the experience. Hayashi table was great and the taste was nice. But is really gourmet and there was only beef, chicken and shrimp as the proteins available. Now don't imagine the full portion of either, you get a scoop of it and if anybody on the table does not want their portion you can take it. Really strange to be honest. The rest of the restaurants as sal de mar and the italian lacked flavor! I mean is Mexican cousine and Italian both are famous for flavor. You kinda expect it as they cook for either tourists who seems to me can’t stand the strong flavors. Three nights we ended up going out for dinner instead to other restaurants. Same goes for the drinks on the bars, they lack alcohol but that is to be expected. You need to ask the bar tender to put doubles or triples to actually have some licor taste. Is a great place for the family as the pools are big and have fun activities. Same goes for night activities as the magic show or the bingo. Besides that not really worth it the all inclusive. Please also be aware this is listed as adults only! Is not the case. There is plenty of family and kids around.

We really enjoyed our time at this property. It was meticulously clean, the staff were attentive and the rooms were very comfortable. The food was good, with someone who has a sensitive stomach I didn’t feel sick at all from all the different dining options although there could have been small areas for improvement - but for the price the value is definitely there. I would not hesitate to stay here again. This is NOT a party resort and this is exactly what I wanted, so as long as you understand that this is a great place for relaxation then you will have an amazing time!
