We had a blocked sink in bathroom. Told the owner and he said he would sort it out but never did. Black mold on radiator. Cold room at breakfast

Our stay
Hotelweve stayed at before. Arrived met the owner who had only taken over a few days ago. This we werenot aware of. Very polite and extremely helpful. Arranged for permit parking for a small additional fee. Took our requests for breakfasts and times. Went to our room which was on the groundfloor. Ensuite double bed, ensuite a lithle tired ,slow draining sink. Otherwise a good size. Breakfast was hot and delicious.

Arrived with friendly greeting checked in then on to my attic room at top which was quite small but did have ensuite shower. For York good value for money B and B but quite dated although friendly staff and decent breakfast helped

Great hotel in a central location with parking and breakfast. We even got early check in! We were Very happy. The room was lovely and clean with everything we needed. It also had an additional heater which we were happy about as there was a storm and it snowed when we stayed.

Comfortable, but didn't feel 'homely'
I was a little annoyed at being contacted several times on the day before and the day of arrival asking what time we would be arriving. When travelling 200+ miles on the British roads this is difficult to estimate! This turned out to be because the host wanted to disappear by 17:15 When we did arrive we were ushered upstairs into a reception room and sat down. Then we were read th rules and breakfast order was taken. Fely a bit like an interrogation. Our breakfast was served as soon as we sat down (at the pre-booked time), but there wasn't much opportunity to ask for extra teabags/milk for the room as the staff disappeared sharpish. Our stay worked out okay and it is in a convenient location for access to York centre.

Fotos können täuschen
Wir hatten ein Doppelzimmer für 3 Nächte gebucht. Aufmerksam wurden wir auf diese Unterkunft, weil die Nähe zum Zentrum positiv war und weil die auf der Hotel-Webseite befindlichen Fotos sehr ansprechend sind. Die Nähe zum Zentrum war so ziemlich der einzige Punkt, der gestimmt hat. Ein weiterer Pluspunkt ist, dass man in dem Doppelbett gut geschlafen hat. Aber weder von Sauberkeit, noch Freundlichkeit des Personals, noch von einem einladenden Zimmer oder einem schönen Badezimmer war etwas vorzufinden. Der Parkplatz für das Auto, der so nett angekündigt wurde, kostete zusätzlich 5 Pfund am Tag.

Quarto um pouco estreito, mal distribuído. Muito antigo, o quarto era todo desnivelado e quase caímos algumas vezes. Também não há elevadores, e as escadas são cansativas. Não recomendo para idosos. O atendimento no check in foi bastante confuso, com a recepcionista contando apenas com um pedaço de papel para saber quem éramos. Café da manhã ruim para brasileiros que gostam de comida boa. Alguns funcionários são pouco receptivos. Não há serviço de quarto, nem troca de toalhas. Se quiser, tem que pedir e ver se eles vão dar outra. Localização muito boa ao menos.

This B & B is in a really good location. It offers car parking on the street for £5 a day, which is really good value. It took me (a slow walker) a good 20 mins to half an hour to walk into the town. The breakfast was ok, average. The communication before we got there was excellent and I was able to text any questions before arriving, but once we got there we were left to our own devices. We had a ground floor room, it was a nice size and clean, but needs updating. The furniture was obviously old and the wardrobe got stuck every time. The bathroom was ok, had a bath with a shower, toilet and sink, hand wash and a couple of little tubes of body and hair wash. 2 towels each but they are small so if you like a big bath towel, take your own. The towels were not changed in the 4 days we were there. The bed was soft. The room had tea and coffee making facilities.
