No kettle or ironing board in the room but apart from that no other complaints. It was clean, well maintained and easily accessible. It is ideally placed for buses, tube and river boat travels. My stay at a&o Rotherhithe Docklands was truly exceptional for such an excellent price (~$120 USD/night). The property is expansive but the setup and the fantastic staff make it feel cozy and personal. The location right on the Thames is a great bonus and my room directly overlooked the river, which I greatly appreciated. The ferry across the river to Canary Wharf was so convenient and the Thames Path allows one to walk along the water as far as you like. The room was very clean and the bed super comfortable. The only tiny issue was that there was no outlet in the bathroom. The free breakfast offerings are many and diverse, including all the makings of a proper English breakfast. The bar includes a large seating area where guests of all persuasions gather nightly -- live music on Thursday nights! All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my 3 night stay--I didn't want to leave!--and I highly recommend a&o Rotherhithe Docklands.

The hostel/hotel surpassed our expectations. Great location to reach Canary Wharf via Thames ferry (included). Nice area to stay when in London. Took advantage of the (free) secure luggage storage facility, for the day following our stay. I’m no plumber of electrician but I’m quite certain that water should not ever drip from any ceiling fixture, as we found late in the evening occurring in our bathroom! I informed them of it, upon check out, and only mention it because I recall reading an earlier review that mentioned a similar incident. Hopefully they attend to this problem. We would stay there again since it was decent value for money.

Based on the price of this hotel, the rooms are quite comfortable. The room and bathroom were clean and the view of Canary Wharf is stunning. The staff were very nice and the free boat shuttle was a big plus. The major downfall was no AC in the room, the room was like a furnace. The hotel bar also had a limited selection of spirits, they had no gin available on one of our nights.

The location is amazing. The proximity to the thames crossing and transportation was great. The staff was the worst I have ever encountered. Rude. Lies. Unlike other hostel properties, they have no kitchen, or way to fill a water bottle, which would be OK, if they didn't want to charge high end prices to use their vending machines. Everything is broken.

I stayed at this hotel for several nights, the room was clean and quiet, although it was cold (17 C) as I could not adjust the temperature by the thermostat. The location initially appeared to be difficult to get to as I had a long walk from the Metro (Overground). I later found that there is a bus route that stops by very close to the hotel, so I was able to use that which made it very convenient. The restaurant was large and spacious. The scenery is very good as it is located on the riverside which affords views of the office buildings across the river.

Had to change rooms 3 times as it sounded like someone was taking a shower in my room in each one. Took over an hour to get a room sorted. Lots of school trips staying with only one person on reception. Free shuttle ferry to Canary Wharf was great.

Bed was comfortable. Pillows were flat. Bedding, bath, toilet and sink were clean. Carpet was sticky and there were lots of dust and webs in every corner. TV was huge (which was great for the England game!) Air con was BRILLIANT! was 30 degrees when we visited so this was an added bonus! Location was great for where we needed to be. We used the uber boat and the shuttle boat a few times (shuttle free if you show them hotel booking). Breakfast was poor. No bacon, mushrooms or tomatoes. Staff on the desk when checking in were rude, sharp and seemed like they really didn't want to be there. All in all, the size of the TV and the aircon was worth every penny! we were only here for one night so didn't feel any need to complain or moan.
