Check-in wasn't good. We were given our first room key. Unfortunately, the lift wasn't working and when we got to the room, it was a double bed not twin beds. Went back to reception and waited ages to get another room. This was in a different building and signs to the rooms were not exactly clear.
At reception, there were signs saying that they were having issues with the air conditioning, which continued throughout our stay and made sleeping uncomfortable.
It wasn't clear when booking that this is more a hostel than a hotel, so there is no restaurant for breakfast. There is a bar, but we didn't use it as we were out most evenings.
They have a number of vending machines, but you can only select and pay for one item at a time. Even though there is a Keep Shopping button, it is a complete waste of time. In addition, when selecting various options, it would say option not available or invalid code, when the items are clearly showing.
On a positive, the location was good with a ferry service across to Canary Wharf, which is free to hostel residents.
