Been staying in this hotel many times over the years and it is sadly going down hill. Whilst the main hotel is older and quirky the annex part in the car park really needs an overhaul.
Lots of little things like blown bulbs, bathroom heating not working, missing sink plugs, no plastic tumblers in the rooms anymore, badly stocked bar..I could go on.
The whole place is just looking very tired and all the little comforts in the rooms are no longer provided.

Very central to the high street shops and the castle.
Suggest they put toilet brush in bathrooms as toilet was not clean and there was nothing for one to clean it ones self.

Room very dated and not a good standard . No soap provided until requested , and security into annex meant anyone could enter. Door to room also poor and did not lock easily.

The Rose & Crown was THE place to stay in Tonbridge 40 years ago. Now, it is neglected, there is no restaurant, the bar which used to be packed was empty. What a shame. In the room, the curtain was hanging off the rail, there were no tooth mugs and the door closer flapped in the breeze. I had my wedding reception there in 1982. Then, it was good.

Really liked the old fashioned feel of the property and room. There is a bit of noise from the msin road outside but I ubderstand there isn't a lot they can do about that. Would stay here again.

Pleased I ignored other reviews... Yes, the floors creak and slope but that is the character of an old building. Room was very clean and well presented. Plenty of free parking (register in reception). Some noise from street, but didn't disturb as am a heavy sleeper - if a light sleeper ask for a room not overlooking the city.

Wouldn’t Stay again.
Blood stain on the sheets, no evening meals, things falling from the ceiling in the breakfast area, no tea out for breakfast, no pastries like advertised and very limited fruit options.
Staff only doing their best as it only seemed to be one person to cover the desk and breakfast or the desk and the bar at any one time.

Broken bed base stuffed with pillows very uncomfortable…. Couldn’t sleep.. I was in a hole all night…
Broken shower handle and found it hard to wash. Through medical reasons I cannot take a bath only shower. So again not deluxe as the room name stated

Shame because the building is amazing with all the history . We will come back but would choose another spec room .
