Scottsdale Marriott at McDowell Mountains

We've been going to Arizona for years and didn't even know this property was there. It's a great location, but also hidden from all the commercial stuff around the area. It sits on the TPC Champions Golf Course and the suites are huge. Dog Friendly Fun! It's right next to Scottsdale Airport so a bunch of planes take off and land but we sort of joked and enjoyed watching some of these jets people have. Mostly, dogs are made welcome, property is very clean and the other guests were all friendly. Only complaint is we extended our stay and they wouldn't give us the same rate even though hotel was not full. Also, no pool service but I'm guessing that was Covid related. But they allowed you to take in pretty much whatever you wanted so it works out fine.

The first thing you need to know is this hotel is right next to the Scottsdale airport. So you will hear private jets going over starting at 7am sharp until around 10pm everyday. We paid $768 for a suite that overlooked the air conditioning units. I felt for that price, we would have at least had some sort of view. The mattress in our room had a slump in it and the bathroom shower stall had a huge chunk of broken tile. Someone will definitely be cutting their foot on that. There is nothing free and there are zero upgrades at this hotel. The restaurant food is awful. I paid $14 for a fried egg slapped between two pieces of toast and they called it breakfast. And to top things off....the first night my husband and I were walking around to see the grounds and saw a couple in the hot tub clearly having sex. So that was uncomfortable. If I have to say something positive, the grounds and the flowers were well kept. I believe we can find a nicer hotel for what we paid that doesn’t have jets flying over every three minutes.

Everything was good except they nickel and dime me to death. $15 for self parking $15 for a room Internet and so on.

This is where I stay whenever I come to Scottsdale. Friendly staff, comfortable and clean facility, and great location.

My husb, daughter, son-in-law and 2 yo grandson stayed here this passed weekend. Check in was quick and friendly. Our rooms were right next to each other. We loved the suite style rooms. The hotel was close to the Christmas light festival we came to see. We will definitely stay here again in the future

Everything was great. Our stay came with breakfast. The only thing that was lacking was that the pancakes weren't very good. They tasted premade. But everything else was delicious!
