Good location but old room and lots of fees
After I had booked, I saw that the incidental deposit charged at the property would be $250, which is way higher than other properties I've stayed at. The online check-in was also easy and I did it while in route, but they charged $30 for early check-in, even if the room is ready. The front desk clerk (who was very friendly) tried to get me to upgrade to one of the refurbished rooms for $60 more, but mitigated that down to $40, considering the other fees, but I stuck with the standard room. Also note that there is no elevator here, so if you or anyone in your party has trouble with stairs, this may not be the hotel for you.
The room was not super spacious and there wasn't really anywhere to sit other than the bed, which was awkward when trying to eat. The bathroom looked very tired, with cracks in the walls in the shower and the cul-de-sac that the toilet was in was very tiny, but nonetheless it was clean. Even though it was very cold outside, it was very stuffy in the room at night and the sheets felt like hospital sheets. I did appreciate the free coffee in the morning, however, and there are lots of restaurants nearby (including a couple bodegas where you can get an inexpensive but filling breakfast).
Overall, it's passable if you're on a budget (and you get what you pay for) but the standard rooms are just that: standard. For one night it was ok, but other similarly-priced hotels do better with newer rooms and even more amenities.
