Would not Recommend

The overall quality of the room was far less than I expect from Hyatt. Air conditioning vents were very dirty, carpet stained and dirty and the room smelled of smoke. Other guests were smoking (both cigarettes & marijuana) outside of their rooms with smoke drifting into our room.

We got there, got our room key, and entered our room (2nd floor). Opened the door and the room looked like someone just left. Towels on the floor in the bathroom, a bag of trash on the bed, the bed still disheveled like someone just got out of it. While I went to the desk to get another room, my family noticed bodily fluids (that will not be named) on the ottoman. It took about 20 minutes before we got another room. Had to lug all of our things downstairs, then up stairs, as the new room was also on the second floor. The room was sweltering. Took a day to figure out the thermostat, as all of the directions for use were worn off. I went to the front desk to get towels, and linen for the pull out sofa which was not in the room. It took staff at least 15 minutes to find towels and a blanket. Meanwhile the phone was ringing at the desk, guests were coming in (one of which by the sound of it) also was having an issue with their room not being ready. The staff that dealt with breakfast were wonderful. They went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. Overall, for a hotel that aligns themselves with the Hyatt name, I was EXTREMELY disappointed.

2nd trip different room

The continental breakfast was good. There was a nice variety and the gentleman in the kitchen kepted up and kepted it full. The bed in our room was not comfortable this time as it was last time. It felt like I was sleeping on a brick and the blackout shades were not as good as our last stay.

Underwhelming

The room layout was good in a two bedroom suite. The carpet is frayed and my sister killed some sort of bug. Check out was quick and so was Check-in but it was midnight so there's that. The kitchen gentleman did a great job keeping the place stocked!

Deceptive advertising

The staff were all friendly. I was completely disappointed in the deceptive advertising of a restaurant/lounge that showed pics of all kinds of food. There is no restaurant/lounge at this hotel! It literally does not exist. That was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel. I will definitely never stay here again.

Bad for families.

Front desk was awkward, no eye contact. Seem to bot like to talk. Dis not hive info about bfast times. Bfast attendant started clearing out by 8:45 no refills as early as 8:30. Very poor service. Room kitchen had 1 plate and 1 fork. This place is not good.

The room is quite large but the furniture needs to be renewed, they are old. The outside environment, stairs, corridor are very dirty, needs cleaning. The receptionist who welcomed us did not even get up. He was very sullen, as if to say, Why did you come? What are you doing here? But he still took care of our business.

Continental breakfast was good, concierge was very friendly and polite. The hidden $250 hold fee was distasteful and uncalled for, the pool not being opened was not a good thing. What if we did not have that $250 would we of been turned away from our room we had paid in full in advanced and then been told no refund. Our room had a bad smell when walking in the door(always), just lingering in the entrance of the sitting room

This was the worse place I ever stayed in my life. We paid over $200 a night and it was the most filthiest dirtiest place… Could not even get another room on the first floor due to us being in handicap was very disappointed. Will also post this on yelp. They did offer a place on the second floor, but due to My Sister’s bad knees we were not able to take it, but that was a little cleaner…. I could not even get my money back because I booked it through you guys. disappointed. They did try to send an Girl to clean, but the place is just so filthy from not keeping up maintenance and not having a clean on a regular basis. I have 28 pictures if you need more unbelievable!!!!! I forgot to tell you the carpet was filthy too had to leave shoes… could not walk on carpet outside the room was stains of gum and cobwebs all over in the front.

I booked this hotel to attend my daughter’s graduation. Since her time in Camden I have stayed at many local hotels when we visit. I booked this because it was a HYATT and didn’t check the reviews. I prepaid. After I booked I looked at the reviews as we have had some sketchy hotels recently. I was horrified to see some of the reviews and was panicked. I couldn’t cancel. So on way we went. From Canada. I was pleasantly surprised. Property was wonderful, room spotless. 2 bedroom suite. I called to ask where to get ice and FD said in our freezer. I explained there was no ice maker in the freezer. They then gave me 4 bags of ice for our stay. (Not sure where the ice maker went but things happen) I was very grateful. Towels great, bed comfortable great breakfast. Not sure what the bad reviews are for we will definitely book here again when we come back to NJ.

Issue with early check-in request

The only issue we had was regarding our early check-in request. We requested early check-in (three times with three different phone calls) and seemed to get a different story with each phone call. The first on-site person I spoke to claimed there were no guarantees, but he "noted the reservation" with the request (it was the day before we arrived). The second on-site person I called mentioned that there was no note on the reservation, so he "noted the reservation" and said I would get a text message as soon as the room was ready (it was early in the morning the day of our check-in, he felt confident our room would be ready at least a little early, but I never received any text messages or automatic updates). My third request for an early check-in was upon arrival, just one hour before check-in (we arrived 2:00pm for the 3:00pm check-in). Once again, I was told there was an automated early check-in system, but our reservation was not "in line". Our reservation was added once again (or so I was told) and we waited in the lobby until 2:45pm, when our early check-in was finally ready (15 mins early). We were verbally notified, but still never received any text messages or automated messages.
