Inflexible desk clerk Vince.
We are a Hilton rewards member and scheduled this stay months in advance in conjunction with a planned family vacation. Have mostly great things to say about the hotel. It was clean, great amenities, nice breakfast. My big issue is with the customer service. The morning desk clerk Vince was absolutely unwilling to let us have an extra hour for check out. He offered us the great alternative of sitting in the lobby with everyone else. Said that they had to keep up housekeeping because they were so busy. In actuality by searching any platform I can see that they still have plenty of rooms available today, and the house keeping crew was going strong, at least on our hallway, from 9 AM on. So maybe I don't get the intricacies of the hospitality business, but it sure would've been a great and appreciated courtesy to let us stay one extra hour in the room. Besides It's more fun to use the restroom that someone just used before you. You can just hold your breath. That's much better than having your own private restroom. And in a super ironic twist, they were cleaning the lobby area where they told us to sit. Thanks, Vince! This is why we don't stay at Hilton properties very often. It's not the amenities. It's the lack of flexibility with your guests. By the way, we stay 20+ nights at hotels each year and another 20+ at vacation rentals.
