We arrived our property late but Omar the night receptionist made us feel very welcomed, he had great energy and a positive attitude. He gave us lots of tips to navigate the city and was very helpful in arranging transportation etc. Rest of the staff was awesome as well whenever we needed anything. Hotel was situated near the tran station and was very convenient to reach to the main tourist destinations but yet not in a too touristy area. View from our room was stunning as well. Highly recommended!!

My request was well reflected. The night view from the 8th floor is so pretty. It is comfortable and nice. Karakoy Station is close, and the port is also close. It was easy to get to the old city, Taksim, Dolmabahce, Balat district, and the Asian district. The staff was very friendly. I went back with good memories of Turkey. I will choose this place next time I come.

This hotel is in a great neighborhood, surrounded by stores that cater to workers (plumbing, electrical, etc) and you feel you are really in Istanbul. It’s a block from the bosphorous, between the metro and Galata bridges. Fantastic location, fantastic staff, clean and nice rooms, highly recommend!

Union Hotel Karakoy is a great hotel in the heart of Karakoy. The building is newly renovated and looks beautiful. The staff are really what set the building apart though - the professionalism and quality of service were excellent. We interacted with Casim on a few occasions and he went above and beyond for us each time. The team is knowledgeable and attentive, providing info about the city and its many tourist attractions worth visiting. The location is great, being close enough to walk to nearly all major sites you'd want to check out in the city, including it's incredible food scene. That being said, it's on a fairly busy main road, which means the street traffic can be a bit loud overnight even with the windows closed. Overall, it's a great place to call home for a short stay in Istanbul, with wonderful resources as your disposal while there.

I can’t say enough good things about my stay here! Staff was great, very helpful, considerate, and even gave me a map with the run down of the area. My room was on the 6th floor and I had a beautiful view of the Bosphorus & mosque. Sunset and sunrise was absolutely beautiful! Location: The hotel is a short walking distance to Galata tower, cafes, shopping and the bridge. Located near public transportation and quick drive if you choose to use a taxi. Cleanliness : The room was VERY clean and had everything I needed. Safety: As a solo female traveler, there was never a time I didn’t feel safe, which was very important to me. I’m so grateful for the staff being so accommodating and welcoming. Assistance: They also help you book any tours and transportation. Also, I left something in the taxis van, they were able to call around and get in contact with the driver and recover my items. I was so grateful! If you’re looking for a safe, affordable, clean hotel, look no further.

We will be back!! We absolutely loved our stay here. Staff, room, location, WiFi, everything was amazing!! We were a little worried of some past reviews saying it’s loud being on a main road but the windows they installed are great, once you close the window you hear basically nothing. We kept the window open for fresh air and still slept great.

Overall okay but not worth the price
We took a room for 4 nights with a sea view, which was as expected, an impressive view. Check-in process was quick, and staff welcome was great. Overall, it was okay but for the price we paid it was not worth it and we did have some misadventures. Some of them below: 1) Noise level from street and especially from neighboring rooms was horrible!! You get used to the constant traffic noise from the street. But noise from other rooms is not acceptable. There is no insulation at all. You could hear anything happening around you. The first night we had some people staying next door and they were talking loudly non-stop until 3am. We have called reception twice to ask them to do something about it, but nothing changed. The other nights were still a bit better, but we could still hear ‘less noisy’ neighbors. This is unacceptable to have no insulation at all!!! 2) Second day: while we were out exploring the city, we received a message late afternoon from the hotel telling us that we needed to move rooms as there was an unexpected plumbing issue in the bathroom (pipe exploded). When we arrived, we were escorted to our room by a very unprofessional staff member. He would talk to us incredibly informally and make very bad jokes (this for the rest of our stay). One of the jokes was really racist. But the most important thing was that when we arrived in our room, some workers were already in with doors wide open and doing their things. We had to move our stuff while people were around us.

Located one block from the harbor within walking distance. Location is central with train and subway about half a mile away. We stayed on the sixth floor with a fantastic view. Hotel is small and does not provide eating facilities. Staff is family owned and operated, Price was very reasonable. I would stayed there again. They made arrangements for transportation to the airport for $25 per person and able to made money exchange from US dollars to Turkish dollars.

Lovely hotel for exploring Karakoy and beyond
