This was a beautiful room perfect for our family of 5! Clean, very tastefully decorated, and best of all it had 2 full bathrooms, which made our lives a lot easier! Enjoyed our stay thoroughly! Sara was extremely helpful!

Simply top notch. The place is a part of an old palace, the room was spacious but the real game changer was the staff. Friendly, efficient, polite and cooperative. Even the cleaning lady (Rozie) was so nice... Well done. Parking in the center of old European cities is always hell...

What a beautiful place Dimora del Cardinale was to stay! So warm and inviting! Sara, who checked us in, was very friendly. Fabulous to have tea, coffee and biscuits , as well as water to fill our bottles. In particular, Rosie and her husband did far more than take care of cleaning our room. They took the time to speak with us and really made us feel at home and we so patient in allowing me to practice my Italian. I was sad leaving Rosie- so amazing!! Her husband helped get us a taxi and made sure we got off to the station. We would definitely stay at this fabulous place again. In a wonderful neighborhood and close to everything!!!

Conveniently located, beautifully renovated five-room hotel on the first floor (walk-up, no elevator) of a centuries-old building. Huge room with charming furniture, high ceilings and large windows. Plenty of storage space, big bathroom. Friendly in-person welcome by greeter who completes check-in and provides keys. No staff present on site but contact through WhatsApp and email. Daily room cleaning. Shared tea/coffee station in hallway but no bar, breakfast, laundry or other services, although these are just steps away from the building. Some noise in evening from bars and restaurants but ended at midnight and quiet thereafter. Overall an excellent experience.

Hotel Dimora del Cardinale was the most wonderful hotel we stayed at during our trip to Italy. The rooms are beautiful and very clean. The staff was so incredibly kind and attentive. It was also in a great area and was walkable to everything! I would highly recommend this property to anyone who would like to come to Florence.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and the room was perfect! It was very spacious compared to rooms we stayed in in Rome and Amalfi during the same trip, and the hotel is located in a convenient location not too far from the train and very close to the major sights. The staff was exceptionally friendly and hospitable. The hotel itself is very charming and it used to be a chapel or something similar because the walls in the lobby were painted beautifully. The AC and wifi worked very well, too. This was such a unique find and we would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Florence!

Excellent stay at Dimora Del Cardinale
I feel, this property is a hidden gem in Florence very close to all major tourist attractions. Very well maintained. The house lady was very attentive and ensured the rooms we were kept tidy and clean. Big thanks to her. 2 bathrooms, 2 working A/C, and a water cooler - can't ask more. Also, they have complimentary cookies, coffee, variety of Tea .... it was an excellent experience.

Unique place to stay, but super cute and affordable for just minutes away from the Duomo. The staff accommodated us checking in early if needed, helped with getting us parked in Parking Duomo garage when it seemed impossible, and also let us keep our luggage there after checkout so we could go eat breakfast after checkout and not carry them around. Things to note: Look for the 8 on the building or you’ll miss it. There is no large sign indicating the location. When you first arrive, you may need assistance getting in the door from the street. It’s an automatic lock that they need to unlock for you. Once inside, it doesn’t look like anything but steps - the rooms are on level one (not ground floor) and there is no check in desk that you usually see in hotels. Staff will come to your room and check you in and verify everything. Most communication was via text from hotel staff, but this worked out for us due to language barrier and the English (on text) was perfect. Would definitely stay here again!

Overall, the hotel is wonderful and at a very convenient location. The rooms are large, very clean and extremely comfortable. The staff members, Rosie and Fabricio are a wonderful couple ready to assist with anything needed. Scheduling a taxi ride or carrying bags down the stairs. The building is indeed historic and well maintained. The only drawback is that there are no elevators and the bags will need to be carried one flight of stairs, not a dealbreaker thought and, as mentioned above, assistance can be provided by the staff if they are available.

Nice accommodation, disappointing check-in
The actual accommodation looked great, was very comfortable, and was in a fantastic location. However, my check-in experience was far from ideal. There were about 30 large steps to climb, and I had a large suitcase, hand luggage, and a handbag. When I arrived, I asked the check-in staff if anyone was available to help, but the staff member responded, "No, sorry, it did say online there would be steps." Firstly, this wasn’t clearly advertised, and secondly, I was surprised that no help was offered, especially considering that as a 30-year-old woman traveling alone, it was evident I would struggle. After initially leaving me to handle it myself, the staff member reappeared five minutes later to my room to ask for my passport to complete the check-in. Overall, it was a good experience, but this aspect was quite disappointing.
