It is a nice park to visit and tour the caves. The staff doing the tours are energetic and informative. However the staff at the visitors center when asked questions basically handed us a brochure and said read it and you will know.. The staff at the restaurant were top notch and very friendly… they made us feel welcome. Now to explain the low scores: we rented cabin 105 for two days. The first day temps were in the thirties at best. We got in cabin turned heat on and the cabin did not warm above the outside temp.. we looked around for the cause and found a 1/2 inch gap from door handle to bottom of door.. we literally spend about four hours in our bed fully dressed and covered up to try to keep warm. My wife went to the reservation desk and was told all other rooms were booked. The best he could do is give us one more blanket.. we asked for two he did not give us an extra. That cabin should not. Occupied when temps are below mid 30 degrees. We paid online for the cabin and felt like they didn’t care about the frigid cabin we spent the first night in. Coming from Michigan we had no other options but to stay in the cabin and freeze both nights. As for the staff in the Green uniforms with the fancy hat… well you may want to retrain them for customer service skills… as for staying at the cabins I would say don’t waste your money or time.. Get a place outside of the park and drive in for the tours.
