Last minute but fine
It was a last minute booking. It was fine.
Breakfast was good and a sensible price.
Hotel is a little tired but adequate and friendly.
I'll consider it in future.

1 night is more than enough
Reception staff where very friendly, we arrived at our room after walking 3 flights of stairs (NO LIFT).
The room was tired and very much in need of a revamp flooring all smashed up, holes.
The bed was probably the most uncomfortable bed ive ever experienced,
The bath room was basically a cupboard with a shower and toilet in it very very small no where to put your toiletries ect.
We went out that evening and unfortunately i lost the room card key - we arrived back about 11.45pm to find the night watchman not having a clue how to get another card, he had to call another person and oh of course theres a £2 charge 🙂 (most hotels will give you one free.)
The breakfast in the morning (continental)
Was the saddest offer ive ever seen. The lady running the dining room was very plesent , the young lady cooking the waffles was the most miserable person ever.
The best part of this trip was the hotel offered free (cant believe it was free) they look after your bags when you check out and you can collect later in the day.
Location of hotle is fabulously close to Paddington.
Would i stay here a again - no

Good short stay.
The Shakespeare was ideal for my one night stay in London, being conveniently close to Paddington Station. The staff were helpful and the room was clean with comfortable bed and good shower.

Great location and room, although small was clean and tidy.
Hotel is a little dated and there only appears to be a small staircase but not a problem for me. I would stay here again.

Reasonably priced but rather tiny
The room was very clean & tidy although very small. The bathroom had a 'damp' smell that was quite overpowering if the door was left open.
We had a room on the third flood which meant 62 steps to our floor.
Reasonably priced for our 1 night stay and excellently placed for the train station.

Closet for a room
Staff was friendly but a “deluxe twin” was literally like a closet with a tiny bathroom attached. We tried to stay out of the room as much as possible because it was so tiny. Breakfast wasn’t bad though

I could hear the trains running underneath the floor of my room even though I was on the 2nd floor. Tiny room overlooking a park with homeless people sleeping all night

There is no potable water in the rooms. There was not a sign in one of the rooms we were in that said the water was non potable . There are a lot of places to stay near by with potable water. No where on their website did it say the water was non potable. The person that checked us in did not smile and was not friendly. This was a male. The staff next day was amazing. The breakfast was great! No elevator. We knew this though. The stairs are steep and narrow.

This stately older hotel was located in a quiet, yet active area. Close to trains, subway, buses made the hotel accessible to everything. Several nearby parks for walking and relaxing, including St. James Park and Hyde Park. Rooms and common areas were very clean. Rooms are European small but workable with excellent newer bathrooms. "continental" breakfast was really a full breakfast, self serve with a number of helpful staff. Good experience.

Good location just 1min away from. Paddington station.
We were 2 adults and 5 kids (reserved one room 5 beds). Overall hotel is clean and good breakfast (for cooked English breakfast has to pay extra £6 per person). Tbh room was a bit small for 5 people but well, when in London you only use room for shower and sleep so did not really mind.
Helpful 24hr reception.
Overall good value for money.

Quaint little hotel near train and tube station. Very walkable. Good restaurants nearby. Nice breakfast. Clean. In nice neighborhood. Kept our luggage safe for several hours after our check-out. Would stay here again.
