The room and bathroom were very spacious. I loved the vanity cabinet with the light. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I also really enjoyed all of the sitting areas both inside and out.

Self Check In was a Nightmare

Check in instructions are outdated and incomplete. The script used by the C S Rep at is not updated with the actual Key Pad on the door, therefore instructions were one step different but enough to create a 45 minute check in that was very frustrating!!!

Prestations pas à la hauteur d’un hôtel. Déception

Nous avons vraiment l’impression de nous être fait avoir en réservant dans cet hôtel ! Nous avons payé plus de 600 € par nuit, impossibilité d’annuler notre réservation, alors que le prix avait été divisé par 3 au moment de notre venue ! Pour ce qui est de l’établissement, plutôt agréable avec une bonne rénovation, petit déjeuner OK. En revanche, mauvaise localisation avec aucun restaurant aux alentours, aucune réception, nous avons vu personne (ni pour le Check-In, ni pour le Check-Out), aucun ménage de fait entre chaque journée, les serviettes ne sont même pas changées (surtout les serviettes de plages). Cela fait cher pour un hôtel qui propose des prestations à la hauteur d’un Airbnb, Bed and Breakfast…

The historic property was very cool and neatly modernized. The neighborhood/area was quiet, but not easily walkable to restaurants, shops, or attractions, which was fine. We didn't take advantage of the breakfast or even walk around the property, as we were too busy experiencing other parts of Maui. In retrospect, this probably wasn't the most ideal location or accommodation for our vacation. If looking for a quiet and relaxing stay, this is the place. However, we spent a great deal of time driving to attractions, restaurants, and other sites around Maui and then driving back to Wailuku to stay overnight. Other inconveniences: hauling our luggage upstairs to our room, having to check out by 10:00 sharp (aren't most properties 11:00 or 12:00 check-outs?), and being required to strip the bed of linens and put towels in the shower. Rules like that are a hassle when you're on vacation. Overall, the property is clean, well-maintained, and very nice. We loved our room and couldn't have asked for anything more, but it just wasn't the best accommodation for our vacation.

There is no on site staff. Communication is bad. Due to the traveling, we missed the email on the door code. So when we arrived, we called 3 times and emailed 2 times but no answer and that was between 3pm to 4pm. We asked around and figured out via Expedia, your website and searched all our emails. Finally we were able to get into the property - an hour and half after arriving. The shower room did not have a hand rail - concerning the safety.

This is true island living. There are tons of places to quietly lounge around in like in the gardens, on the patio, in a beautifully furnished den, or their living room. The included breakfast was actually really delicious as well with a full spread of fruit from a local market.

Loved our stay at the Historic Wailuku Inn!

My husband and I came for our elopement on Maui, and we’re so happy we chose to stay here. The room was so cute and most importantly clean. I also loved how big the shower was. They provide everything you need - there were even beach towels in there for us to use. Convenient to the airport and a bunch of restaurants. Not on a beach, but you’re really not missing out since everything is fairly close. They helped my friend secretly deliver an elopement gift for us, which was so sweet of them!
