I'd strongly suggest a "Superior" room, as those are the only ones with air conditioning, and you'll probably want that. It's clean and safe, and the staff speak "hotel English", i.e., most standard questions they can handle. We wanted information on bus tickets to Ceterveri, and this had to be managed in Italian, which I'd expected, but none of them had ever used that bus and had no idea where exactly to get tickets. We eventually found out, and to their credit, they asked us afterwards and noted down the answer for future reference. Mostly the hotel was really nice, except*** NO ELEVATOR past the 4th floor yet...** and warning, the hotel is frequented by LARGE tour groups which descend upon the breakfast en masse, so try to be there when it starts. But the food is pretty good and there are some really nice restaurants nearby along the Lungomare.
