Cheap, but not so cheerful.
Stayed here prior to an early flight from Stansted. I was a little concerned from the moment I walked into the reception area, with no proper reception desk and looking like it was in the middle of a refurb (I don't think it was).
It only got worse in the room. The mattresses on the beds were terrible. One you could feel every spring, the other appeared to have no springs and had given up any pretence of being a mattress. Needless to say, I did not get much sleep. There were small lamps on the wall that didn't work, were not properly attached to the wall and you could see exposed wires.
The shower was just hanging loose as the fixture for holding the showerhead was broken, which meant you had the hold the showerhead whilst trying to wash yourself.
The walls were thinner than a tent, which you could hear every noise from the other rooms, and the road noise outside was like having the cars driving through the room.
In the interests of fairness, I will say that towels and bedding did appear to be clean.
If you're looking for hotel close to Stansted Airport. I would recommend looking elsewhere and spending a little more.
