Great location in town centre, parking 2 minutes walk away, clean rooms and bit dated but bed really comfortable, tea coffee in room,smooth quick check in ,will definitely stay again

Great central location if visiting the Piece Hall, friendly staff. Hotel is dated and a little run down in parts. Requested twin room and had a large room with a double and single bed in, bathroom large, complimentary toiletries, tea/coffee facilities, kettle very clean/new. Beds comfy and clean. The room rates reflect the standard of hotel, basic but all you need for a night.

After reading the reviews we were quite anxious about what to expect. Overall we had a good one night stay. The bedding was clean. Its a beautiful building but could do with a big renovation. Would probably not stay again. Didn't pay much, so didnt expect much.

The staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was clean but the bathroom needed some maintenance…fittings were broken and the lock was too. Decor was tired and needed updating in general, though I’m not sure what they are allowed to do being Grade 2 listed. Ideally situated in the middle of Halifax so great for the shops and sites. Too expensive so not great value.

Great central location close to shops, bars and restaurants. Room was dated but clean. Bed was comfortable. Tea & coffee in the room. Toiletries provided. Close to the piece hall for concerts. Let us check in a little earlier as the room was ready.

Room was small with no view. Have just looked and we booked a deluxe room with a city view. If we had a deluxe room I dread to think was a standard room looks like. Bed too soft. View was a wall and windows. Used sanitary towel pushed behind the toilet

Good sized room, very centrally located next to shops, restaurants, and transport. The hotel is a little dated but it was very clean. The staff were all lovely and really make you feel welcomed.

Room was clean but old and tired. When we arrived the pillows weren’t in pillow cases. The staff did put this right but the pillows were so old and thin they put 2 into each pillowcase. The bed itself was also tired. My partner spent the night with a spring making itself known to his ribs! Bits were missing/falling off the shower head and tap and the furniture was quite knocked about and chipped. There were no plug sockets by the bed at all. They were on the opposite wall. Luckily, I take a travel extension lead with me. On the plus side the hotel is in a great position in the centre of Halifax. Perfect for a concert at the Piece Hall. I paid over £100 for a standard double- not particularly ‘budget’

Great stay generally. Our only issue was that the room was very hot even with radiator off. Couldn't open the window to cool the room.

Shops were quit near but the hotel is not good it’s a old building with poor customer care. Note : there is not power sockets beside bed so keep in mind before booking

The room which we booked as a superior double was at the back of the hotel with frosted windows making it feel totally claustrophobic in an already small bedroom section. It was like a sauna inside! Curtains falling off the windows and dirty! Bathroom was huge and at the back, with toilet seat falling off, sink water not draining properly and with a running water sounding nearly all the time. Again frosted windows as expected in a bothering but very dirty with pigeon muck all over it We asked to be moved as bearing in mind we had booked this room 8 months ago and upgraded to the superior double for a better room. A joke of course!! We were he would look at it but eventually told us we couldn’t as they were fully booked and if we had wanted a better room we should have requested it when we booked! How could we possibly have done this as we hadn’t been to this hotel before! The mind boggles. We the requested a fan to cool down the heat and he said he would sort it but if course that never happened and when asked later regards this we were told there wasn’t one! The hotel was an expensive mistake and we would never stay there again.
