It was a lovely stay. Nice people all around. Good ambience and very peaceful. Better place with a big garden around. Good for summer stay. Definitely recommend.

If you’re looking for a simple clean overnight stay and your self catering this is good value I recommend. It is a monastic location next to wye valley nhs rust as long as your comfortable with church bell ringing at fairly regular intervals.

A wonderful stay in historic grounds with Abbey views. Enjoyed the sound of the bells ringing. Well provisioned self serve breakfast. Enjoyed being able to visit the abbey and walk through the private grounds.

Lovely stay while exploring the area. Very peaceful and away from the hustle and bustle of Hereford but still close by. Great room with really nice shared kitchen facilities if you want to use them, or you can have a continental breakfast which we chose. Superb staff! We’ve already booked a return for a stopover.

The place was clean and bright. However we were unprepared for the atmosphere. Nowhere in the booking process did we understand that we were staying in a religious commune. We could not find the promised shared kitchen and the walls were very thin. Everyone was friendly but we only saw one last when we arrived and one when we left. We just felt the place was a bit strange.

Excellent accommodation, the room was clean, modern, bed comfortable Staff are very friendly and helpful. Our room was upstairs, which was fine for us. The Porters Lodge has a very warm and welcoming feel. The grounds are beautiful and make sure you visit the Abbey. We want to go back and use as a base for a short break. Would recommend.

Large clean room with crisp sheets on the bed. Both the bed and the pillows were too firm, resulting in limited sleep I was convinced that continental breakfast was included when I booked the room. However the Expedia booking did not state that ,nor did the information sent to the Porters Lodge. The charge was though only £5 pp.
