4/10 Fair

Last year our stay at the Mana Kai was a dream, so we booked again. This year, not so lucky. Management there has changed and more than that, the specific unit we got this year is managed by Vacation Maui, not the Mana Kai at all so everything was confusing. Our unit was advertised as "beautifully updated" - I can tell you it has been YEARS since that unit got so much as a new pillow. It is run down and it was so dirty. One of the bathrooms doesn't even have a door. I contacted Vacation Maui and they offered to do an additional clean for us. The place looked the same after this extra cleaning service. I took several photos and I'm just so disappointed by this experience. We could have saved A TON by staying somewhere else and would have had a better experience. I hope management figures it out and streamlines the guest experience..it is so weird now. Unless things change drastically, we won't go back and that is so unfortunate because it really used to be so great.
