Fantastic place to stay. Lovely warm welcome from the staff who are all super friendly and very helpful. Excellent food in the bar in the evening, and a very welcome full English breakfast in the morning..

Nice hotel, lovely staff, ideally located for many Lake hikes. The food was fabulous, both breakfast and dinner. Would happily stay there again.

It was a quick stop over trip as we were picking up things nearby so we booked late at night, arrived just before check in ended and had a large trailer with us. Staff were extremely helpful, helping us to park up safely, ensuring we had everything we needed etc. It was a comfy room, a lovely breakfast and a beautiful location. It was just a pity we had to be away early and couldn't stay and enjoy the location.

Excellent pub and hotel, great location with direct bus links to Pooley Bridge and Glenridding. Very good breakfast. Service excellent. Very comfortable beds. Very dog friendly. Highly recommend.

This hotel is amazing. Well located, Great facilities. Super helpful and friendly staff. The restaurant was very good. We had an evening meal and enjoyed it immensely. The sleep was great. Breakfast was cooked to taste, and was exceptional for a hotel and included in the price. We will certainly return soon.

A really nice stay in a great location for Aira Force, Ullswater & Keswick. It's an old building so a few creaking floorboards but all added to the lovely warm welcoming vibe. Beds super comfy, towels very plush and great Pure Lakes toiletries. The bar was buzzing with locals and visitors alike and the food was really good. We had a good night's sleep and woke to a lovely breakfast. We will definitely return

I really enjoyed staying here. The staff were all friendly and very helpful. They are very environmentally aware and encourage guests to be mindful as well. I arrived too late for dinner but breakfast was tasty and I only stayed one night. There were families/folk enjoying the hammocks in the garden and an outdoor almost people sized game of chess.

What a lovely place to stay . Rooms are clean and comfortable,pub has well stocked bar and plenty choice on the menu if you're hungry. Staff are very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was to die for . Will definitely be back

This was a last minute booking, we really enjoyed our stay. Food is excellent, staff are friendly & helpful. Hotel would benefit from some TLC & a little update. Stair carpet frayed, bedroom walls are ready for a coat of emulsion, but we would stay again.

The hotel is situated in a lovely, peaceful area, and the staff were pleasant and adequate throughout our visit. The standout feature of our trip was definitely the food—every meal was truly wonderful and exceeded our expectations. However, getting a restful night's sleep was difficult. We were placed on the first floor, and the sound insulation between floors was very poor. We could clearly hear footsteps, constant banging, and movements from the guests above us throughout the day and night. If you plan to stay here, the setting and cuisine are well worth it, but I would strongly recommend requesting a room on a higher floor to avoid the overhead noise.

T’was a great experience stay. The room is nice and clean. I love the scent of the lemon grass shower gel. Staff are friendly and helpful. Best of all the food from breakfast ‘til dinner is great! We had a wonderful stay.

Our 2nd stay recently at The Royal Hotel was again a wonderful experience. The staff are fabulous, the bedrooms are beautiful and modern. The food is exceptional for a pub style setup with lovely specials. An area of outstanding natural beauty and a walker/hiker's dream!
