Old Town Zürich
Old Town Zürich dazzles with its medieval charm and picture-perfect streets. The twin spires of Grossmünster and Fraumünster churches stand watch over cobblestone squares lined with colourful guild houses. Wander through car-free zones to discover hidden courtyards, ancient fountains, and cultural treasures like the Kunsthaus and Swiss National Museum. Refuel at cosy cafés serving rösti and fondue, or browse boutiques selling Swiss watches and handcrafted goods. Most attractions sit within easy walking distance, while excellent tram connections at Paradeplatz and Rathaus stops make exploring beyond the area a breeze.

Seefeld
Seefeld serves up luxurious lakeside living with a side of old-world charm. The tree-lined streets lead to gorgeous Lake Zürich, where locals stroll the waterfront paths through Zürichhorn Park. Art lovers can explore the Museum Bellerive or catch a performance at the elegant Opera House. The Chinese Garden offers a peaceful escape when you need a breather from the upscale boutiques. Dining options range from chic cafes to sophisticated restaurants with lake views. Tram stops at Hoschgasse, Frohlichstrasse, and Feldeggstrasse make getting around a breeze. Though accommodation lean towards the fancy side, the neighborhood's walkability and tranquil atmosphere make it worth every franc.

Aussersihl
Aussersihl has transformed from working-class roots to Zürich's hippest district, where alternative vibes meet urban cool. Street art pops against industrial backdrops while the iconic Freitag Tower built from shipping containers makes for a perfect photo op. Langstrasse buzzes with neon-lit bars and vintage shops, while Viadukt's converted railway arches house trendy boutiques and eateries that locals love. The dining scene serves up everything from Turkish döner to Vietnamese pho at prices that won't completely destroy your wallet. Getting around is a breeze with excellent tram connections and walkable streets that let you explore at your own pace. Boutique hotels and design hostels offer industrial-chic aesthetics for travellers seeking style with their slumber.

Enge
Enge strikes the perfect balance between big-city buzz and lakeside bliss in Zürich. Elegant waterfront promenades lead to cultural treasures like the FIFA World Football Museum and Museum Rietberg with its Asian art collections. You can soak up stunning Alpine views, catch a boat tour, or just people-watch as locals stroll through manicured parks. The area offers upscale dining with lake views and excellent transport connections. Hop on frequent trams or the S-Bahn to explore, or simply walk along tree-lined streets past Belle Époque mansions and contemporary glass buildings. Swimming spots dot the lakefront during summer months.

Oerlikon
Oerlikon blends business bustle with surprising artistic flair. The former industrial area now hosts major concerts at Halle 622 and art installations throughout the district. Travellers appreciate the modern architecture alongside thoughtfully preserved factory buildings. MFO-Park offers a green escape with its unique metal framework covered in climbing plants. Getting around couldn't be easier with Zürich Oerlikon railway station connecting you to everywhere worth going. Business travellers appreciate the proximity to corporate headquarters while still having access to theatres and music venues. Most restaurants cater to professionals with upscale dining options available near office buildings.

Wander along the Bahnhofstrasse, where Swiss precision meets high-end shopping and the world's bankers somehow make wealth seem tasteful. The Kunsthaus Zurich displays masterpieces with such casual confidence you'd think Picasso was a local. At Zürich Opera House, even the cough drops are probably engineered for optimal acoustics. The Swiss National Museum chronicles a nation that remained neutral while perfecting chocolate and timepieces. FIFA World Football Museum celebrates the beautiful game with exhibits that transcend team loyalties. Lake Zürich offers boat trips where the water appears suspiciously clean, while Zoo Zurich houses animals in enclosures that seem more luxurious than many human accommodation.

citizenM Zürich
"Staff were always kind and helpful, which was the best part. It must be reasonable its room is such small where a bed is occupied exactly from the wall to the other side’s, given its relatively lower price. However, we would say bed making was terrible. The room between mattress and the frame was not clean with hairs and rubbishes. Cleanliness around a bed is all about sound sleeping."
Novotel Zurich City West
"The hotel is distinguished by its welcoming and friendly staff, who go above and beyond to assist guests and make the check-in and overall procedures smooth and professional. The hotel also enjoys an excellent location, making it a great choice for visitors."
St Gotthard Hotel
"Was ok."
Bristol Hotel
"The location of the hotel was great, and the gentleman who helped us check in late at night was gracious. We paid extra for breakfast, but felt like it lacked options for the price. Biggest disappointments were the lack of adequate air conditioning on days that were in the upper 90s (there was a sign in the room that said the AC could only be set for 9 degrees less than the outside temperature, which just really wasn’t sufficient in that heat. The other challenge was that the desk socket was so loose, none of our plugs would stay in, and the one in the bathroom was super confusing and I couldn’t figure out where the euro plug would go. This left us with only one outlet on the far side of the bed for charging three peoples’ devices."
ibis Styles Zurich City Center
"Very Good!"
Hotel Scheuble
"Excellent walking location to restaurants, coffee spots and sight seeing. Safe to walk at night and close to Coop for grocery items. The room was clean, comfortable and staff was helpful for finding places in city. I would stay at Hotel Scheuble again next time in Zurich!"
Motel One Zürich
"We had booked a family room and when we arrived we were given an accessible room. When we raised this the initial response was that was all that was available. When we pushed back they eventually said there would be one available later in the day and they would move us. They then gave us breakfast the following morning as an apology. Thank you @motelone."
Hotel Limmathof
"affordable"
Saint Georges Hotel
"this is a fantastic choice if you’re looking to stay in zurich city centre!! really it’s the best location for walking around some of the city’s most famous streets, including the shopping ones! the hotel itself is in a lovely little square and looks very picturesque from the outside, with the shutters and beautiful pastel coloured buildings. the area around it feels safe, even when i went out on walks by myself as a young woman, and the square next door has a lovely looking greek restaurant and japanese restaurant not so far away! also close to the river ☺️ the staff were helpful and always friendly and the rooms are decorated in a lovely way and the views outside the windows are bery picteresque yet again! such an amazing location, style and efficieny of a hotel and i recommend staying here !"

To truly appreciate the city's historical and cultural offerings, a stay of at least 2 to 3 days is recommended. This duration allows visitors to explore key landmarks, such as the beautiful lake, various museums, and charming cafes, all while enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of live music and shopping. With its great value for money, Zürich is an ideal destination for those on a budget looking to immerse themselves in its rich history and culture.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: Travel to Zürich with confidence by exploring Hotels.com's DealsOpens in a new window section, where you may discover attractive hotel deals. Check the Last-Minute Deals area for discounted stays as your travel date nears. For added assurance, enable alerts to stay informed about flash sales and promotions. With the Smart Shopping tool available via the app, you could compare hotel prices and amenities to find the best hotel deals in the canton. This approach helps ensure you’re more likely to see opportunities for a last-minute getaway.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and time of year. Therefore, being flexible with your travel dates may help you find a better deal for your stay in a Zürich hotel. If you’re seeking something distinctive, boutique hotels might provide a more personalised experience and potentially better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. Should the price be on the higher side, we’ll recommend alternative dates that could be more affordable, assisting you in your quest for a favourable rate.
- Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive, but with Zürich's outstanding public transport connections, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel located further afield that remains well linked. For those keen to explore alternative, less populated neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
