"The hotel has fantastic views over Torbay. We stayed in a standed side sea view room, which was quite nice but unfortunately the balcony door was locked so unable to use which was a shame. There was some noise from other guests at night which was sorted at by hotel staff."

"Lovely hotel but very hot in our room we were in the top floor"

"From the moment we entered the Hotel Indigo Torquay, we knew that our money was very-well spent. The staff, especially Isabelle at the front desk and Jackie in the breakfast room, were over-the-top in service and helpfulness. Every staff member, including the hotel manager, treated us in a friendly personal manner with a very high degree of professionalism. The view from our large super comfortable room was picturesque, overlooking a rocky cove on the English Channel. The breakfast was well-prepared and sumptuous, a served hot meal and a buffet of fruit, cheese, bread (including our favorite, croissants), cereal, yogurt and pastries. We had two very good dinners in their restaurant on nights we did not feel like going out. I would very highly recommend this hotel."

"This has to be the worst hotel we have stayed in. The room was dirty, very far from all amenities and everywhere you walked the floors creaked so loud you thought you were going to fall through them! The swimming pool was under major construction (which wasn't mentioned before we booked) scaffolding everywhere which was a little worrying. A child pooed in the pool and no one got the rest of the guests out! We went to the bar in the evening and while we were sitting having a drink 3 huge rats were trying to climb the trellis to where the kitchen was. Safe to say we didn't eat there. When I brought all this up with the manager the next day, I felt reasurred I would get a full refund, but as I booked through expeadia I had to go through them and the hotel didn't respond to their request for information!! Awful."

"i was not happy to pay extra £10 to use the pool, it was never mentioned on the app"

"Staff was happy and welcoming when arrived but unfortunately the guy on desk when we left was not as friendly. Room was nice size and clean.was very disappointed with the choice of breakfast and tea choice i would not be happy to pay for what was on offer no one ask if there was anything whe would like as i can't eat fried eggs and mushroom would be nice othere then that it was a nice hotel and would stay again plus great entertainment was a bonus "

"Clean and comfortable room.Good central location. Reception staff were very friendly. Communal areas need updating"

"We stayed 4 nights as a family with a toddler. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing despite a few positives. We booked a family room at TLH Derwent, but on arrival, they placed us in a twin room without prior notice due to a water leak, which caused us a long walk with a pushchair & luggage; it was very inconvenient. After complaining, we were offered a family room at the Carlton hotel. We appreciate this, but the room was on 2nd floor with broken lift throughout our stay. This caused significant daily inconvenience to carry a pushchair and belongings up and down stairs multiple times a day to access facilities such as bar, pool, and outdoor areas. Maintenance issues were a major concern. The bathroom shower head was leaking, and the amenities were very basic. The room had no air conditioning. With temperatures reaching around 30°C, the room became uncomfortable and humid. A serious concern was the wooden structure behind the bed, which caused multiple head bumps to our toddler getting injured more than once during sleep. We also faced difficulties with basic childcare needs. Staff were reluctant to heat milk for our toddler. At the bar, the chef refused access to a microwave despite prior confirmation before arrival. This left us feeling unsupported and frustrated. We ended up having to heat milk using the bathroom sink filled with hot water ourselves. On the positive side, the indoor pool, gym, steam room, outdoor pools, and kids’ play areas were very good."

"This amazing hotel well surpassed our expectations. Beautifully modernised and equipped with quality fittings everywhere. Our stay coincided with some sunny hot weather so the outdoor pool, jacuzzi and bar facilities were in full use but still plenty of sun loungers and great service. New indoor pool and spa were simply fabulous, very clean, quiet and well maintained. Breakfasts were that perfect combination of extensive help yourself cold buffet and freshly cooked to order hot food from a super menu including my favourite Eggs Benedict. Staff were super helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay again."
