Think you're going to explore Marrakech at night??? Well, forget about it if you're staying at this Riad.
The neighborhood was so incredibly unsafe that we were harassed to death, followed by shady people, and even had rocks thrown at us trying to find our hotel down the tiny alleyways. It is so easy to get lost that you end up having to pay someone to direct you back to your hotel, and a half dozen other vagrants follow you the whole way shouting things and harrassing you up until the door of the hotel. IT WAS SO UNSAFE WE PAID FOR BOTH NIGHTS, BUT THEN GOT THE HECK OUT ON THE SECOND DAY since I knew we wouldn't feel safe walking back to our hotel the next evening and none of us wanted to deal with it.
To make things worse, the room obviously fit three people and I was more than willing to pay an extra person fee. Instead, they insisted that we'd have to buy an extra room for our party in addition to our initial room. It made absolutely no sense, and they were so incredibly rude about it that this hotel completely lost my respect. The woman was so incredibly rabid about paying for another whole-price room that it was obvious it was just about the money, not about the guests.
Sure, the place has "charm," it's a cute Riad and the rooms weren't bad at all (kind of hostel-like in terms of fanciness), but the management and the nieghborhood were so horrible our bags were packed by the second day of our two night stay.
