Decent hotel in a good area. Could be improved.
The hotel is a little bit run down. Front desk staff was friendly. Breakfast was nice. Selection for dinner was a bit fast food-ish. The room - well, the beds are not much more than a piece of plywood with a sheet. Super hard and uncomfortable. My body was aching all week. Other than that, it is clean and the bathrooms are nice. Close to Copacabana Beach and we felt safe in the area.

Hidden gem, a distance from the beach
The hotel is set back a way from the beach so it's a good 15/20 minutes walk to Ipanema Beach and surrounding nightlife. The room was surprisingly large, as was the bathroom. My only criticism would be the bed sheets were woefully thin and worn with tiny holes. Staff friendly, helpful and engaging. Breafast was served in the large dining area and was standard fare of 'cake', bread, ham/cheese slices and fruit. Juice and coffee. Quiet area at night, immediately surroundings had shops close by. We'd stay again as was also good value for money.

Fantastic location, easy to walk to Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, restaurants, shopping and the train station. Personel is friendly, helpful and caring, always willing to provide directions and recommendations on what to do and how to get to special place.
