Great location and room, decent property, no wifi
This is a hard review to write. The hotel's location is fabulous. Literally steps from the beach and the art deco district and all the nightlife and shopping. But there is a reason it's less expensive than all the other options, most of which I expected.
It's an older property and has all the drawbacks of an older property...slightly aging look, etc. But the room was great. Large king bed, spacious, kitchenette, huge balcony, etc. If you are looking for a comfortable place to stay and will be out and about most the time, definitely stay here.
I was there for a conference, unfortunately, and the Internet never worked during my entire visit. It was on, off, off, on for a minute, off. I probably rebooted my computer 750 times that week. To be fair, the hotel refunded my daily resort fee, but I would have rather paid it and had Internet instead of having to run across the street to Starbucks constantly.
The pool is fine, but there is no pool bar (if you are looking for that kind of thing).
The customer service....the woman at the front desk is LOVELY! She learns your name and goes out of her way to help. You can tell she loves working in hospitality. The night time front desk guy was kind of a jerk and suprisingly rude. Probably not an issue for most, but just a note as to why I marked customer service down a notch. If I called down during the day, she always answered. When I called at night about the Internet, it would literally ring for 30 minutes before he picked u
