Absolutely awful service. I have had over 200 nights with hotels.com and this is the first time I complain. Booked weeks ahead, cancelled me on the day. Said it was availability then when I called they said it was because I didn’t complete a pre-registration. Which they never sent to me.
Later on I saw they had availability for different type of room so I rebooked (using a US cell number), received pre registration where you have to provide a huge amount of personal information. They then cancelled me again. And despite this they let both bookings remain as confirmed in hotels.com and so it took a complaint to have this rectified.
