Good hotel with traditions and history
Afternoon tea is very nice, including live Piano music. This part of the hotel is classic and well preserved. The breakfast service can be improved, while the offerings are many and with rich assortments, there are som basics missing, no bacon, no port/beef sausage, no ham, not much cold cuts - one can wonder for whom these decisions had been made? Probably towards staff, as the Chinese population of Malaysia loves pork. There are no tea pots, only small coffee cups to try to manage a tea bag into. Also there is som logistic issues in placing all guests in about half the available tables - gets crowded and somewhat loud. We loved our room in the old building and the pool outside the SPA - almost empty!

Nice hotel just not for business travel
I’ll caveat that this was for a business trip. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff are great. However, I would not recommend this hotel for business travel. The WiFi is terrible, making basic work functions difficult. The noise from traffic went all night and was so loud that even with earplugs I did not sleep much. And checking in took nearly 1 hour due to a change in my schedule and the need to add an extra night.
