Though we waited pretty long for check in, reception staff were kind and helpful in explaining to us and making sure we were comfortable while waiting. Hotels in Shenzhen are not really rated at the same level, in terms of stars, as those in many other metropolitan areas. 5-star ratings here seem to be more like 4-star elsewhere. This Ritz had great service but the room itself is not that well maintained. My biggest gripe is the ventilation in my room (which was upgraded for free to the executive level) was poor. When I entered into the room there was a musty smell. The room was on the warm side throughout the night even though I cranked temperature down to 19C. Very spacious room and bedroom. I got the room on Expedia for a good price so overall it was a good stay. Just don’t expect your typical Ritz I guess.

Great lobby, helpful staff, but dated rooms.
Excellent customer services, however it’s a shame that the room had a couple of issues. Squeaky bathroom door, faulty TV remote control, the room was dated and the furnitures have seen better days. It would be okay if we were staying at a 3 or 4* hotel but given it was Ritz Carlton, it had really failed to meet our expectations.
