Trouble in Brussels

We arrived at the property to find the elevator out of order…no problem, we took the stairs. Opened our apartment to a strong damp smell which smacked you in the face. After dropping our bags in the living room on the un hoovered floor we started to look around to see if we could locate the smell. As we walked down the hall, we felt a squelch under foot which at first we thought maybe the cleaners had knocked a bucket over or had a stubborn stain to get rid of but after further investigation we found the boiler had a bad leak and had leaked through the wall/floor and soaked the carpet. We immediately phoned Smartflats and was told they would forward it onto the relevant department, I asked if it would be seen that day as i felt it was a safety issue, they said maybe, maybe not, which I was not satisfied with and asked for alternative accommodation. 10 minutes later a technician arrived to assess the boiler and confirmed it was beyond repair and couldn’t get replaced for days. We had a phone call from smartflats and was relocated to a hotel on the outskirts of the city which was a 30 mins walk from grand place instead of 5mins as before, we had a disabled person in our group so this was not ideal at all and the walks back at night were intimidating to say the least. We took taxis a couple of nights to avoid this but at a cost that we didn’t envisage at the start of our break. The new apartment was amazing…no complaints with the standard of that one. Overall, a bad experience

Muy sucio , la regadera solo sale agua caliente , sofá cama incómodo . Me cambiaron de propiedad y en la otra no funciona elevador .

I do not recommend this apartment. When I entered the apartment there was no TV and WiFi available. I sent about 14 emails to Smarflats and in the 4 days they brought a TV that did not work because there was no WiFi at any time. From the first email they always mentioned that they were working on the problem but they never solved it. There were 2 towels for 2 people and 1 set of sheets. A bad smell came out of the shower drain constantly and the door had to be closed. The photos that appear on the website are nice but I will not return. I hope it is helpful so that you do not have the discomfort that I had.

SCAM SCAM NEVER EVER STAY HERE!!!

Terrible! Never stay here! We were robbed while we gone for dinner. All our stuff had been gone through with many items missing! They give you a false sense of security with the multiple numbered keys pads before entering the apartment only to find out anybody can come in and take everything you have!

El apartamento está lindo, tiene excelentes calefacción y la ubicación está genial. La visita que tiene por las diferentes ventanas es lo mejora de todo. La cocineta tiene todo lo necesario, aunque no lo utilizamos porque estuvimos sólo una noche. Mi único pero es que no funciona el elevador, asi que tuvimos que subir las 4 maletas hasta el 6o piso. El otro inconveniente, que lo pueden arreglar rápidamente, es que el colchón de la cama plegable está sucio, con manchas de todo tipo y que las tazas de los 2 baños tienen sarro, lo cual te da desconfianza para usarlos. Estos detalles contrastan con lo limpio que está todo el departamento y con la exigencia que te imponen, con reglas de limpieza para devolverte los 200 euros que te piden como garantía.

The good thing about the apartment is the location - right next to the main square. It is spacious but basic. The bad things - the elevator in the building does not work so you have to go up six floors with the luggage. There’s no working internet, and when we contacted the management company the explanation was that they are working with the provider to fix the issue, which is very far from the truth because a review left 10 days before identifies the same issues.
