August 2019: We stayed at Choisy Les Bains for 3 weeks and we were very disappointed.
Originally booked a Garden View apartment, then upgraded before arrival to 2 bed Penthouse (extra £725) as was a special birthday year family holiday.
We arrived at complex at 21:30 and picked up the key from the security staff at the gate. Received no welcome information or request to check-in/provide passports etc.
At the apartment, there was no guest information provided - so we were in the dark with regard to check-in, reception, housekeeping - all the basic information that you would expect in even a 2 star accommodation.
Our first night was unpleasant to say the least - the sheets on the bed were not laundered properly (that smelly ‘left much too long in the washing machine before drying’ stink) and the odour from the bathroom drains made it very difficult to get a good night's sleep.
The fridge in the kitchen was also dirty – large food spill stain on the glass shelf. The beds are particularly uncomfortable and with a back which is prone to twinges, the resulting pain the next morning and afterwards required large quantities of ibuprofen!
We went to Reception to advise that we were not happy. That resulted in a wait of almost an hour - turned out the staff were all in a 'very important meeting about customer issues' (the managers words, not mine!).
